We all need a bit of humor in our lives right now. A bit more humor. Perhaps I have a low sense of humor, but the funniest thing I encountered today — the thing that actually made me laugh aloud, was this lawyer in the 394th court of Texas who had a kitten filter on his Zoom meeting and couldn’t figure out how to turn it off.
“I’m not a cat!” states the lawyer, and you have to love some of the comments:
“‘I’m here live, I’m not a cat’. That’s exactly what a cat trying to pass as a lawyer would say.”
I credit the judges for (mostly) keeping a straight face. I’m not sure I’d be able to — but maybe that’s why I’m not a lawyer or a poker player.
A great many of us have encountered Zoom meetings — and the problems with them since the pandemic began. I’ve had issues with background acting in bizarre ways — or hiding me — and I’ve finally given up on them and let people encounter whatever chaos arises in my environment.
But I also had the same reaction that, apparently, numerous other people did: “I need that kitten filter.”
CNN, it turns out, looked into it. He was using his secretary’s computer which had an older filter in place — so it’s not something you can readily download. You can find the software for PC, but then need to screen-share to use the filter.
So for now, it’s my own face people will see on Zoom. Sorry friends.
